Mary Goldbeck, MSW, LCSW, CSAC, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Master’s Degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and is also a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor. Mary has  over 35 years of experience and has worked with individuals, families, couples, children and adults.  Much of her experience was working for the Department of Corrections, Drug treatment Program, providing individual and group substance abuse counseling, both to men and women.  Drawing on these experiences she is skilled at working with individuals or families with alcohol or drug addictions, other addictions, trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety, anger management, assertiveness training, communication skills, domestic violence, relationship issues, parenting, and adjustment/transition issues. Mary’s theoretical orientation is eclectic, most often utilizing techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy and strength based approach, drawing on concepts from psychodynamic theory, solution focused models and family systems theory.  Mary has worked in a women’s shelter and as a school social worker so is experienced in play therapy with children. She strongly values continuing education and enjoys learning new and creative therapeutic approaches. Mary is a warm and genuine therapist who believes the therapeutic relationship is an important part of therapy and spends time building a trusting relationship with each client, being non-judgemental and accepting of her clients.  Areas of interest include, addictions, adjustment, grief, trauma, relationship issues, parenting support, depression, anxiety and social skills.
