
Mari Hoaglund, MS, LPC

Mari received her Bachelors of Science in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. Mari completed an internship with the Racine County Human Services Department where she trained in the Foster Care, Child Protective Services, and the Juvenile Delinquency Unit. She continued on with her schooling and received her Masters in Counseling from Concordia University.
During this time, Mari completed her internship with Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin counseling adolescents from age 5 to 17 years old. She has also worked with Rogers Memorial Hospital from November of 2014 to December of 2017. Mari started off working with the Alcohol and other Drugs program but found her calling when switching to a full-time position working with adolescents. She has served children, adolescents and adults struggling with both mental health and substance abuse issues. She also has experience running groups focusing on healthy living both mentally and physically with a focus in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Mari has recently decided to make a move towards outpatient therapy in hopes of building long-term success with clients and their goals.
Mari volunteers with United Way of Racine County and participates in various walk/runs in the area raising money for causes such as suicide awareness and MS. She has attended many trainings over her professional career relating to topics such as Domestic Violence, Trauma Informed Care, motivational interviewing, and Ethics and Boundaries. Mari has also received intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Mari believes in daily positive affirmations and continuous validation of her patient’s feelings while working towards short-term, attainable goals while in treatment.
