Jacob Martinez, MS, LPC
Jacob is committed to helping people drop the struggle with shame, self-criticism, anxiety, and depression, so they can live more vital and connected lives.
He has a special interest in working with anyone whose life has shrunken down due to self-critical thoughts about not being perfect, overwhelming social anxiety, or fear of connection with others. He also works with couples seeking to develop a more meaningful and vibrant relationship.
Jacob is an expert in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), a form of therapy designed to help people take action so that life works for them instead of just happens to them. His clients learn real skills that foster connection to what matters most even in the face of unwanted thoughts and feelings. He works collaboratively with clients to build a map of the kind of person they’d like to be, and how to get there.
Jacob is an active member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), and the past president of the Texas Chapter of ACBS. He also actively trains other mental health professionals in ACT.
